NOTES:
This version of Bellarmonic for carillon and sampler, arranged for Tiffany Ng, augments the sound of a live carillon with detailed, close-mic’ed recordings and samples of the eleven bells in the Christ Church (Philadelphia) belfry - bells that were purchased by Benjamin Franklin in 1754. These samples, activated by the same player using a midi keyboard, create sustained textures and harmonics through loudspeakers that otherwise wouldn’t carry acoustically over a long distance. Originally composed as part of “In Plain Air”.
